Honolulu, Hawaii —The Pacific Islands Fisheries Group (PIFG) is presenting their Sixth Annual Hawaii Fishing and Seafood Festival on Sunday, October 9 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Honolulu Fishing Village, Pier 38. Admission is free for adults and children. This one-day event is estimated to draw over 20,000 in attendance.
The festivals purpose is to promote awareness of marine conservation, ocean safety, responsible fishing and highlight Hawaii’s magnificent seafood industry. There will be over 100 vendors surrounding Pier 38 including: fishing retailers, tackle distributors, fishing agencies, fishing clubs, local restaurants, non-profit organizations and many other ocean-related businesses. Festival activities include fishing workshops, tours of fishing vessels, tours of the fish auction facility, live fishing demonstrations, Gyotaku printing, seafood cooking demonstrations and lots of games for the keiki.
There will be live entertainment and trip giveaways on the main stage. The event schedule will distributed shortly.
Public parking and shuttle service will be at Honolulu Community College starting at 8 a.m. There will also be limited free valet parking at Pier 38.
Pacific Islands Fisheries Group or PIFG is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization established in 2005 to encourage communication and provide a network to keep fishermen informed of what is going on in the community.
