About Hawaii Fishing and Seafood Festival

Pacific Islands Fisheries Group

The Festival is an annual fundraiser for Pacific Islands Fisheries Group (PIFG), a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Each year, PIFG receives tremendous support from the community in helping to celebrate Hawaii's fishing & seafood heritage. With our supporters, we will continue to build on our annual fishing outreach, cooperative research and education programs throughout the State of Hawaii.

Through everyone’s help last year, we were able to:

  • Bridge science and fishing communities by hosting the Statewide Ulua/Papio Tagging Challenge and Bottomfish Tagging Project.
  • Promote family, community and ocean conservation by partnering with the Boys & Girls Club to host “Day of Fishing.”
  • Raise $10,000 for the Mike Sakamoto Memorial Tournament and Scholarship Fund
  • Celebrate Hawaii’s ocean heritage by once again welcoming over 20,000 of our local fishing and ocean enthusiasts to a day of fun, learning, food and entertainment at the Hawaii Fishing and Seafood Festival.
  • Host informative and fun evening presentations on seafood safety and health.
  • Help the Boy Scouts of America celebrate their 100 year anniversary Makahiki event.

PIFG would especially like to thank the various fishing clubs and organizations, exhibitors, volunteers and sponsors who have donated time, services and products that make each Festival successful. Through everyone’s unwavering support, we can truly celebrate Hawaii’s fishing & seafood heritage! For more information please visit www.fishtoday.org.
